If you’ve ever visited the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia, you know what a special place it is. Over the years, just about everyone has played the 40 Watt Club, including R.E.M. and Nirvana. I have been shooting shows there for over 15 years and wanted to do something unique with all the photos I have accumulated over the years, but also pay tribute to such a wonderful place. In attention to seeing killer shows over the years, the staff have always been some of the nicest and most welcoming people I have met at any venue. They were made an awkward stranger with a camera feel most welcome when I moved to town in January 2006.
The response to the 40 Watt Club mosaic print was beyond what I imagined. All 20 of the prints have been sold with the last one selling at Cillies Athens recently. I have been asked by a few people if I will be making more. The print was limited to 20, so I can’t in good conscience just make more that are exactly the same. In order to keep the original run special and unique, I have decided to to create a 2nd edition of the 40 Watt Club mosaic.
The 2nd edition of the mosaic consists of over 600 entirely different photos that I’ve taken at 40 Watt Club over the last 15 years (2006-2021). None of the images were part of the 1st edition. The 2nd edition is limited to 40 and each one will be signed and numbered. Bands included in the 2nd edition are: Pylon, members of R.E.M., Love Tractor, Vic Chesnutt, Drive-By Truckers, Mission of Burma, Cindy Wilson, and many more.
The print measures 20″ x 30″ and will be printed on Kodak glossy photo paper and will be signed and numbered edition of 40. The print is nice and large so that you can easily see the individual images that make up the mosaic.
You can have the print shipped to you, or if you live in the Athens area, I can do a local delivery. Even if you live in Athens, I am happy to ship it to you. Once I have some prints on-hand, there will also be some available locally at Cillies Clothing. The price that includes shipping is only good for the United States. If you live outside the United States, please contact me and we can work out shipping costs.
