As some of you may know,  I am going to SXSW this year for the first time to shoot some photos for Flagpole.  While I am totally stoked about going, the sheert number of bands playing can be intimidating. Flagpole has given me a list of Athens related shows/parties to attended, but other then that I am free to see whoever I’d like. At first I was going to make a schedule and stick to it so I would be able to see bands that have been wanting to see or liked from listening to songs on myspace. Since then I have decided that making a schedule would probably actually stress me out by trying to make everything and getting frustrated if I missed something,  so now the plan is to just wonder around and play things by ear. I plan on providing a few photo updates while I am down there, but you will definitely be able to read up on Athens bands during SXSW by the new Flagpole blog. I have not been given the link yet, but I will post it once I receive it. I leave tomorrow morning at 8:55am and have a connecting flight in Dallas and will arrive in Austin at 12:30pm. It will be a full day jam packed of bands, booze, and bbq. Wednesday’s agenda is going to be the Athens in Austin party from 12:30pm to 6pm then will see REM later that night!
