This weekend my friend Chris showed me how you can play doom2 online! Basically you go to zdaemon.org and download their free client and install it. It comes with the original Doom wad, but you can add the Doom2 wad and play it online as well. After setting up an account with them you are presented with a list of servers from all over the world that are dedicated to running doom/doom2. Once you and a buddy decide on a room it’s fragging time. The game really looks great, and even has support for my monitor resolution ( 1680 x 1050 ) and some moded wads support free look so you can actually look and fire! I played this several times this weekend and got only 3 hours of sleep last night because of it, but it was worth it. It really brings back the memories of playing multiplayer Doom2 on AGN (Action Game Network) over my 14.4 model with my friends. Now if only they had the same kinda support for Duke Nukem 3D!
